Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description
A disc 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in diameter overall consisting of an outer border of red 1/8 inch (.32 cm) wide, an inner border or white 1/16 inch (.16 cm) wide, a ring of blue 5/16 inch (.79 cm) wide, a ring of white 1/16 inch (.16 cm) wide around a blue center and superimposed thereon a white star of 2 inches (5.08 cm) in diameter.

Symbolism
The insignia is a modification of the basic design of the insignia authorized for the 5th Logistical Command, which was the parent or source organization of the 12th Support Brigade.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 2 February 1966.  It was cancelled effective 17 October 1999.  (TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-407)

Description
A silver colored base metal and enamel insignia 1 inch (2.54 cm) in width overall consisting of a silver star of six points, one point up, surmounted by a blue star with six alternating points, all above a silver scroll inscribed COMPTEZ SUR MOUS in black letters.

Symbolism
The stars allude to the derivation of Support organizations from the COSTAR concept.  The silver star supporting the blue one represents the Brigades function.  The twelve points of the two stars allude to the organizations present numerical designation.  The motto translates to Rely On Us.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 18 March 1966.  It was cancelled effective 17 October 1999.
